Mr. Hastings is experienced in personal injury, employment, and commercial litigation and has tried cases in both state and federal courts. He has concentrated his practice on maritime, railroad, toxic tort, and commercial litigation. Jeff has handled toxic tort cases involving asbestos and silica, as well as a number of other hazardous substances. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of Houston and a 1991 magna cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law. Jeff is admitted to practice law in Texas and Colorado.

  • Defended Jones Act personal injury action arising from back injury on jack-up rig

  • Defended manufacturers in numerous matters arising from alleged asbestos exposures including mesothelioma and lung cancer cases

  • Represented oil field service companies in numerous Jones Act and maritime personal injury matters

  • Represented oil field service company in silica exposure claims

  • Defended various corporate clients in wrongful discharge/discrimination matters

  • Represented a wide variety of business interests in numerous asbestos exposure matters

  • Served as counsel for national railroads in a wide variety of personal injury actions

  • Represented oil field service company in wrongful discharge/discrimination case

  • Prosecuted a breach of contract dispute arising from ultra-sonic rail testing
